If you reached this panel from the Create a new company menu item, you could either select an existing company code for which you want to generate, or copy, files. If you want to create and generate/copy files for a new company click Add.
When you are creating a new company, five or six panels will be displayed. If you, on the Application defn/company maintenance (ASGD9401) panel, activate the application code DIM, six panels will be displayed and the last panel will be Account part dependent object creation (INGD0051). If you do not activate the DIM application code, five panels will only be displayed and the last panel will be Company generation selection (INGD0011).
Selection fields
System company control file maintenance (ASGD0014)
The purpose of this program is:
- to define the company codes and the overall company information that are to be used in the system
- to connect applications to a company
- to connect additional products to a company
- to create a library list for each company
- to generate, or copy, files for a new company, if you selected the Create a new company menu item to reach this panel.

- Company code
- Note: It must be a two-character code containing the letters A to Z and/or numbers 0 to 9. When you log on to the system, you select the company to work with by entering this company code first.
- Base system company
- This field is used only for new entries. Indicate if the company is a base system company. In every IBS Enterprise installation, there must be one, and only one, company defined as a base company.
- Company name
- Enter the name of the company. The name will be printed on different external documents, e.g., invoices. This information can be retrieved to the footer area of printed external documents. See Standardize the layout/information on the printout for more information.
- Address
- Enter the company address using the available text lines. This information can be retrieved to the footer area of printed external documents. See Standardize the layout/information on the printout for more information.
- County

Enter a code from the County table indicating the county in which the customer/supplier is located. This information can be retrieved to the footer area of printed external documents. See Standardize the layout/information on the printout for more information.

- Telephone number
- Enter the telephone number of the company. This field is used for internal information only. This information can be retrieved to the footer area of printed external documents. See Standardize the layout/information on the printout for more information.
- Telefax number
- Enter the telefax number of the company. This field is used for internal information only. This information can be retrieved to the footer area of printed external documents. See Standardize the layout/information on the printout for more information.
- Company reg number
- Enter the registration number of the company. This field is used for internal information only. This information can be retrieved to the footer area of printed external documents. See Standardize the layout/information on the printout for more information.
- VAT registration no
- Mandatory entry if the system country is an EU country. Enter the VAT registration number assigned for your system country. If you are using the EU reporting function, the entered VAT registration number must be the same as the one defined for the system country in the Country table. The VAT registration number will be printed on sales order documents, interest invoices, reminders, or statements of account (only in Accelio format). This information can be retrieved to the footer area of printed external documents. See Standardize the layout/information on the printout for more information.
- Short name
- Enter the name of the company in abbreviated form. The short name will be displayed on all panels and printed reports throughout the system.
- Party identification
- Enter the party identification number of your company.
- Sales tax handling
- Mandatory entry. Indicate if this company will use the sales tax handling function.
- EU reporting
- Indicate if you want to activate the EU reporting function in the system.
If NO, all fields associated with EU reporting will not be displayed when you work in the system.
- Right adj postal cde
- Indicate if the two fields on the last text line in the company address are to be switched around when you print the address. If YES, the postal code will be printed on the right side of the postal address. If NO, the two fields on the last line in the company address are printed as displayed on the panel.
- Group reporting
- Indicate if you want this company to be enabled to receive BIW transactions using Group reporting. If you set this field to YES, this company can be set as the Corporate company in the Work with Company Hierarchy file. Set the field to NO if you want this company to be classified as an Originating company for Group reporting.
- System country
- Enter the code for the system country. Do not forget to enter the country in the Country table, if this has not already been done. This information defines all suppliers that do not have this country code as being foreign suppliers.
- System language
- Enter the code for the system language. The language code must be defined in the Language table.
- System currency
- Enter the code for the system currency. The currency must be defined in the Currency table.
Note: The system currency must not be changed once the system has been installed.
It can only be changed if the current company is the same as the selected company and no records exist in the Inventory transaction file (SROITR) and no records exist in the General Ledger transaction file (SROPST).
- Base currency
- Enter the code for the base currency. The currency must be defined in the Currency table.
The base currency is used when calculating amounts from the transaction currency to the system currency (triangulation). The system will first calculate the amount into the base currency. Then the amount is calculated from the base currency amount into the system amount.
The base currency is also used when calculating from the transaction currency to primary currency and when calculating from transaction currency to VAT reporting currency.
Note: When calculating amounts into the Reporting currency (displayed in Reporting currency on this panel), the system will first calculate the amount into system currency, and then from system currency into reporting currency.
Note: If you do not need to do any reporting to the authorities in an EU country, i.e. that the country will not join the European Monetary Union, you can enter the same currency in this field as in System currency on this panel. This also apply if the system currency already has been converted to EURO.
Note: The base currency must not be changed without running the Change base currency and/or reverse exchange rate menu item.
- Reporting currency
- This field must be completed if you want to activate the RCU application on the following panel.
Enter the code for the reporting currency. The currency must be defined in the Currency table.
The reporting currency can be used as an alternative system currency. On several panels and printouts, you can select to view the amounts in the reporting currency.
It can be useful with a reporting currency if you, e.g., need to do your internal reporting in another currency than the system currency, or if you want to keep information in the system currency when you have converted into EURO.
Note: The reporting currency must not be changed without running the Calculate reporting currency from system currency menu item.
- Reversed rate
- Indicate if you want to activate the reversed rate function in the system.
The reversed rate dictates the format in which you will enter the exchange rates in the Exchange rate table.

An amount of 100 GBP will then be calculated as:

- Life-cycle phase
- Enter the code for the Life-cycle phase for the company. Valid phases are:
- Development
- Integration test
- Quality control
- Customer acceptance
- Production
- Calendar
- The default calendar created when this company was generated. This field cannot be changed. You can change the information in the calendar via the Maintain calendar menu item. Note: This calendar is always used in IBS Distribution.
- Release level
- Enter the release level defined in the Release definition table. This field is defaulted by the Product upgrade software to the highest release in the Release definition table.
- Dimension set code
- Enter a valid dimension set code for this company from the Dimension set definition table. The dimension set indicates how the account structure is defined.
The dimension set code must not be changed once the system has been installed.
It can only be changed if the current company is the same as the selected company and if no records exist in the General Ledger transaction file (SROPST).

- Enter the BIC code (Swift address) that identifies the company’s bank.
